Celebrate Women’s Suffrage as we honor Women’s Equality Day! Celebrate Women’s Equality Day at Historic Richmond Town! Women’s Equality Day commemorates the anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which granted women the right to vote on August 26, 1920. More than 100 years have passed since this historic expansion of voting rights in the United States, yet the story of Suffragists and their contributions still resonates today.  We will feature stories of notable women who participated in the fight for equality across New York State, and the experiences of everyday women who advocated for their rights from the home and hearth
