Live Virtual Toddler Storytime
This event is online only. Children 18-36 months old and their caregivers can join us for songs, early literacy activities, and books! Any child under 5 also welcome! Missed out on family storytimes over the last year? Ready to move and sing and read books together? Catch up with Hal and the children’s team as we sing songs, read picture books, and move around together–virtually! This program will be held over Google Meets. After registering, you will receive the link to the program 24 hours before the program starts. Throughout this program, librarians will provide opportunities for engagement and interaction with numbers, letters, colors, and open-ended questions. The expectation of this program is that caregivers will engage with children while the program is being conducted, helping prompt exploration and interaction with their real-life environment. Button Making
Who doesn't like making buttons? I haven't met anyone who does. They're fun to have, easy to make, and they show off your personality. What's not great about that? NOTHING. Anyway, teens: Come by the library on Wednesday afternoons to make buttons! We've got plenty of supplies and a new button machine that's ridiculously simple to use. IT'S E.Z.
Toddler Time: Little Movers
This storytime is for children 18-36 months and their caregivers. Join us to hear stories, sing songs, and get those wiggles out as you help your active child build important early learning skills. Discover ways to promote early literacy at home and meet other caregivers in the neighborhood. ***PLEASE READ*** 8 spots will be open for online registration each week, and another 8 spots will be held for walk-ins on a first-come, first-serve basis, for a total of 16 families. Please register under the child’s name. Tickets for walk-ins will be given out at 11AM on the day of the program. Online registrants must check-in at the entrance to the library by 11:20AM. Tickets for a waitlist will also be given out. If there are still spots available after 11:20AM, families will be moved from the waitlist into the story time. The child must be present with their caregiver at the time of check-in. Online Registration will open one week in advance at 2PM. Sometimes, the online registration will have an unexpected delay. Please keep refreshing the registration page between 2PM-3PM. If the registration does not work by 3PM, then please call the library at 212-714-8400. We apologize for this, and are working on a solution.

Celebrate 10 Years of Miraculous® – Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir
Celebrate the 10 th anniversary of Miraculous Corp’s globally popular superhero adventure series Miraculous® – Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir at New York City’s iconic FAO Schwarz through an exclusive in-store activation. Spanning six seasons and a feature film, and available in the U.S. on Disney Channel, Disney+ and Netflix, Miraculous ® follows the adventures of two seemingly typical teens with secret identities, Marinette and Adrien, who magically transform into superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir to save their city of Paris from unexpected supervillains! The celebration will take place at FAO Schwarz in Rockefeller Center and feature six weeks of interactive in-store activities, bespoke window displays, and a dedicated Miraculous® retail installation offering a hand-picked selection of award-winning toys, books, apparel, roleplay items and more. Visitors of all ages are invited to honor a decade of friendship, empowerment, and superhero adventures enjoyed by fans across 150+ countries. Special In-Store Activations Saturday, July 26 (10 AM – 2 PM): Visitors can enjoy a Ladybug mask giveaway (limited to the first 200 guests), meet-and-greet opportunities with characters, and strike a pose at the custom Miraculous® -themed backdrop, perfect for fans looking to capture a share-worthy moment during their visit. Fans are encouraged to come dressed in costume to fully immerse themselves in the Miraculous universe. Saturday, August 2 (10 AM – 2 PM): Fans are invited to a special Miraculous® Chibi -themed experience with Mad Cave Studios author Carrie Harris. Carrie will be onsite to introduce a take-home creative writing booklet she designed for aspiring young writers. Guests can pick up a booklet and have their copy of a Miraculous Chibi graphic novel signed. Saturday, August 16 (10 AM – 11 AM): A charming Parisian morning featuring croissants and pastries served at a café-style setup, along with the popular Miraculous -themed backdrop for capturing magical memories. Saturday, August 23 (10 AM – 2 PM): Illustrators Ryan Jampole & Lex Hobson of Mad Cave Studios will host a book signing, accompanied by a signing table and photo area. Saturday, September 6 (10 AM – 2 PM): Brings back the fan-favorite character meet & greet and Miraculous® -themed backdrop, offering one last chance to celebrate the decade-long legacy of Miraculous in-store.
