During this 1.5 hour class your kids will learn how to make “Cool Kids Club” sundaes with non-alcoholic ice cream and fun candy toppings. Plus! parents will get unlimited tastes of boozy flavors while your kids create their masterpieces!

Muppet Babies Take MoMI
As part of Open Worlds 2025 free community programs, Museum of the Moving Image will host “Muppet Babies Take MoMI presented by Bank of America,” a weekend of fun and educational activities for families, anchored by the exhibition of newly restored puppets, including Muppet Babies puppets of Kermit the Frog, Baby Gonzo, and Baby Rowlf, in the Museum lobby. Visitors are invited to take photos with the puppets, participate in hands-on workshops, listen to live music from John Koozin and the Neighborhood, attend a panel discussion with Jim Henson’s Creature Shop about puppet conservation, and more! The Museum will also present matinee screenings of The Muppets Take Manhattan (1984), which features the Muppet Babies in their feature-film debut. There is a fee for the screenings.

This summer, NYC Parks and The Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment will host family-friendly movie showings across the five boroughs. “Mufasa: The Lion King” enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline. Celebrate Rockaway Shorebirds Festival
Love the beach? So do nesting shorebirds, like the piping plover. These tiny shorebirds fly over 700 miles to nest at Rockaway Beach every year. Join NYC Park’s Piping Plover Team and other community partners for a day of educational activities and crafts to help us better understand how we can all share the beach and support a healthy living environment.
