Pride in the Garden
Spend a day in the garden filled with activities for all ages highlighting community, acceptance, self-expression, and joy. Take inspiration from the rainbow at the Family Art Project. Connect with other nature lovers at Pride Birding. Meet with Destination Tomorrow, the Bronx’s LGBTQ+ center for valuable resources and support. The garden is open late for a dance extravaganza! Family Art Project: Colorful Critters
Explore rainbows in nature by learning about how animals get their colors. Then, make your critter and set the scene by crafting a diorama of your favorite colorful creature’s habitat. This project was designed by participants of our ACES internship program. At 11:30am families can enjoy a Pride Month-inspired storytime program in the Gund Theater, all ages welcome.

Dinosaur Safari
Something BIG is coming this spring to New York, as Dinosaur Safari returns with a roar to the Bronx Zoo! Guests will get up close with some of the largest animals to ever walk the Earth, including more than 60 life-size animatronic dinosaurs and pterosaurs. Dinosaur Safari is a beloved tradition and immersive walkthrough experience at the Bronx Zoo that has captured the hearts and curiosity of families and paleontologists-in-training for years. New this year, guests will marvel at the 11 brand-new dinosaurs and pterosaurs making their debut as they move and roar with new cutting-edge animatronic technology so realistic that guests will feel like they’re transported back to prehistoric times. From the 43-foot Giganotosaurus, to a pair of Sphaerotholus, to the famous apex predator Tyrannosaurus rex, encountering a Triceratopsand Ankylosaurus, dino lovers of all ages will take a step back in time, but make memories guaranteed to last a lifetime. Lap Sit Storytime
This program is intended for pre-walkers and new walkers only. Join us for a special time to bond with your little one and meet other parents and caregivers. Super Giant Creatures
This program will be in person at Throg’s Neck Library. Come enjoy an upbeat, interactive music performance that will entertain children and adults alike! Willie Devargas is a veteran educator and Blackboard Award winner who shares his original children’s music, sing-along favorites, and rhythm basics in this 45-minute class. Young children and their families can sing, clap, stomp, and dance along in this engaging musical experience. Presented by Willie DeVargas. Summer at the Library 2025 Thank You! Come join us in the SV Community Room to make a keychain in honor of Pride Month using Perler Beads. June 9th: Paint an adorable Teddy Bear Piggy Bank for your allowance using our paint and brushes! June 23rd: Fill up a glass mason jar with colored craft sand, pebbles, gems, and plastic animals to make your summer terrarium.

Teen Tech: Open Studio
This event will take place in person at the Mott Haven Teen Center. Get your creativity flowing and hop into the recording studio with one of our Teen Tech Mentors!
