Something BIG is coming this spring to New York, as Dinosaur Safari returns with a roar to the Bronx Zoo! Guests will get up close with some of the largest animals to ever walk the Earth, including more than 60 life-size animatronic dinosaurs and pterosaurs. Dinosaur Safari is a beloved tradition and immersive walkthrough experience at the Bronx Zoo that has captured the hearts and curiosity of families and paleontologists-in-training for years. New this year, guests will marvel at the 11 brand-new dinosaurs and pterosaurs making their debut as they move and roar with new cutting-edge animatronic technology so realistic that guests will feel like they’re transported back to prehistoric times. Coloring Time
Join us for an in-person, drop-in coloring club. Kids will use an assortment of coloring pages, crayons, and colored pencils to create their own art. Supplies are provided by the library, and inspiration is provided by kids! Children 12 and under are welcome.

This event will take place at the Castle Hill Library Summer Reading Celebration! Show plus giveaways. Exploring Nature Journaling Explore the world of nature journaling, a place where science and art come together! Make and decorate your very own nature journal, then use sketches and written observations to journey through the natural world. Make a Mini Garden Audience: Children, School Age (5-12 years) Both the parent/caregiver and the child must be present during entire program: unaccompanied adults or children may be asked to leave the program.

Summer Art Series from Safe Pathways
Hey Bronx kids and youth ages 10-24! Join the VNS Safe Pathways Summer Art Series! Each week, youth will engage in a different, fun, strength-based art activity, to improve their resiliency skills, while connecting with their peers. Oftentimes, the activities can double as coping skills youth can use in times of stress or crisis. The series is drop-in, meaning it isn’t mandatory to attend all 8 weeks. Youth can participate as desired! The art series is free for all and snacks, along with fun prizes, will be given out weekly!

Public Gallery Tour
Solo and group exhibitions at Glyndor Gallery explore the dynamic relationships between nature, culture and site. When exhibitions are on view in the spring, summer and fall, Gallery Greeters lead public exhibition tours on Thursdays and Saturdays at 2PM. Visitors can expect an in-depth look at artworks on view in Glyndor Gallery and in the Sunroom Project Space, showcasing the work of both emerging and established artists in the unique context of a public garden. Dinosaur Safari
Something BIG is coming this spring to New York, as Dinosaur Safari returns with a roar to the Bronx Zoo! Guests will get up close with some of the largest animals to ever walk the Earth, including more than 60 life-size animatronic dinosaurs and pterosaurs. Dinosaur Safari is a beloved tradition and immersive walkthrough experience at the Bronx Zoo that has captured the hearts and curiosity of families and paleontologists-in-training for years. Wave Hill House is wheelchair-accessible. There is an accessible, ground-level entrance at the front of the building with a power-assist door. The restroom on the ground level is all-gender and ADA-compliant. Additional ADA-compliant restrooms are available on the lower level, which can be accessed by elevator.

Public Gallery Tour
Solo and group exhibitions at Glyndor Gallery explore the dynamic relationships between nature, culture and site. When exhibitions are on view in the spring, summer and fall, Gallery Greeters lead public exhibition tours on Thursdays and Saturdays at 2PM. Visitors can expect an in-depth look at artworks on view in Glyndor Gallery and in the Sunroom Project Space, showcasing the work of both emerging and established artists in the unique context of a public garden.
